This June, three members of the Sherwin Hall team will be heading to the Lake District to take on Challenge the Wild, all in support of Hope Against Cancer.
Kristina, Imogen and Daniella are preparing to face their fears and push themselves to their limits across the breathtaking Cumbrian landscape, raising vital funds for a charity that's close to our hearts here in Leicester.
What does the challenge involve?:
Over the course of two days, the team will be camping out in the Lake District wilderness and tackling a series of demanding outdoor activities. They'll be hiking through rugged terrain, rock scrambling up challenging routes, abseiling down steep rock faces, canyoning through gorges, and building rafts to navigate the lakes. It's not for the faint-hearted!
Meet the team:
For Kristina, the challenge is about more than just crossing a finish line. As a mum of two young girls, she wants to show them that you can achieve anything you set your mind to. "I've discovered the feeling of crossing a finish line is quite addictive," she says. "It's something you can't get from anything other than knowing you've truly pushed yourself."
Imogen, also a mum of two, is excited to push herself in a way she hasn't done for a long time. She's ready to show her daughters what their mummy is capable of whilst supporting a local, life-changing charity.
And Daniella? She's proving that 50 is definitely not over the hill. She loves embracing new challenges and meeting new people, all whilst raising awareness for a brilliant cause.
About Hope Against Cancer:
Hope Against Cancer has been making a real difference in our community for years. Based in Leicester, they've funded over 100 cancer research projects and opened a dedicated clinical trials centre at Leicester Royal Infirmary in 2012. Their work gives patients access to new medicines and therapies, and they fund two specialist nurses who provide extra care and support to patients undergoing trials.
We're incredibly proud of Kristina, Imogen and Daniella for taking on this challenge. If you'd like to support them and donate to Hope Against Cancer, you can do so through their JustGiving page below:
