Bespoke Kitchens Leicester: Design and Installation by Sherwin Hall

If you're looking for a bespoke kitchen in Leicester, you'll quickly discover that the word "bespoke" gets used by a lot of companies to mean very different things. Some use it to mean a choice of door colours. Others apply it to a standard carcass range with a few optional extras. At Sherwin Hall, bespoke means your kitchen is designed around your home, your space, and how you actually live - and then built by hand in our workshop.

What Does a Bespoke Kitchen Actually Mean?

A genuinely bespoke kitchen starts with a blank sheet of paper, our designers sit down with you, talk through how you use your kitchen, and then figure out the best way to design around your space - whether that's an awkward alcove in a Victorian terrace, an open-plan layout in a new build, or a period farmhouse kitchen that needs to feel like it's always been there.

Every cabinet is built to your exact dimensions. Every door, drawer, and detail is chosen deliberately. That's not a marketing line - it's just what bespoke means.

Our Style

There's no single Sherwin Hall "look." What we do well is understand how different styles work in different settings - and guide you towards choices that will still feel right in ten years.

Classic shaker kitchens suit Leicester's period housing stock particularly well. Painted timber cabinetry, inset handles, stone or hardwood worktops - done properly, this style ages beautifully and suits everything from a Victorian semi in Stoneygate to a detached property in Oadby or Knighton.

Contemporary kitchens require a different kind of discipline. Clean lines depend entirely on precise manufacture and immaculate installation. We're comfortable with handleless doors, integrated appliances, and high-gloss or matt lacquered finishes - but the same handmade principles apply.

Some of our most interesting projects have been where the brief was less defined. Clients who wanted something that felt traditional but lived very modernly, or contemporary kitchens that still needed warmth. That's where having real designers - rather than a showroom sales process - makes the difference.

What the Process Looks Like

Every project starts with a free design consultation. You can come to our showroom at Oadby House on The Parade in Oadby, or we can come to you. Either way, the first conversation is about understanding what you want - and what your space allows.

From there, our designers develop detailed plans and 3D visuals, so you can see how your kitchen will look before anything is committed. Materials, handles, worktops, appliances - all of these are worked through properly, not rushed.

Once you're happy with the design, manufacture begins in our workshop. Your kitchen is then installed by our own team, not passed to a subcontractor. One point of contact throughout.

You can read more about our full process here.

How Much Does a Bespoke Kitchen Cost?

We'd rather be straightforward about this than leave you to find out later. Sherwin Hall kitchens typically start from £15,000 for a full design and installation. The final figure depends on the size of the kitchen, the materials chosen, and appliances. There's a significant difference between a modest galley kitchen in a laminate door and a large open-plan space with an island, quartz worktops, and integrated everything in a real wood in-frame door.

A handmade kitchen built to last, installed properly, adds genuine value to your home - and it won't need replacing ina few years because the carcasses have failed or the doors have swollen.

We're happy to talk through costs openly at your first consultation. No vague "get a quote" runarounds.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a bespoke kitchen take from design to installation?

Most projects take between 12 and 20 weeks from the point of finalising your design. The timeline depends on the complexity of the kitchen and current workshop schedules. We'll give you a clear programme at the outset so you can plan accordingly.

Do you work across all of Leicester and Leicestershire?

Yes. We design and install kitchens across the city and throughout Leicestershire, including Oadby, Wigston, Stoneygate, Knighton, Clarendon Park, Birstall, Glenfield, Blaby, Great Glen, Hinckley, Loughborough, Market Harborough, and Rutland.

Can you work with an unusual or difficult layout?

This is where bespoke comes into its own. Awkward corners, chimney breasts, sloping ceilings, uneven walls - we design around the reality of your space, not an idealised version of it. Most of our most satisfying projects have had some kind of layout challenge.

Do I need to have decided on a style before I contact you?

No. Some clients come to us with a clear brief; others arrive with a vague sense of what they want and need help developing it. Both are fine. That's what the design consultation is for.

What's the difference between a bespoke kitchen and a fitted kitchen?

A fitted kitchen is designed to fit your space, often using standard-sized carcasses with custom doors or finishes. A bespoke kitchen is designed and built from scratch to your exact dimensions and specifications - there's no standard unit at the core of it. The difference is most apparent in awkward spaces and in the long-term quality of the cabinetry.

Do you offer any other services alongside kitchens?

Yes. Our team can also design and install fitted wardrobes, home offices, home bars, utility rooms outdoor kitchens, and laundry rooms - all to the same bespoke standard.
